Airtel Kenya has is improving the quality of its 3.75G network performance in Nairobi to provide a stronger signal and faster data speeds.
The spectrum upgrade will significantly enhance indoor coverage penetration and improves data quality for Airtel 3.75G network users. In February this year, the company announced that it had invested Ksh2.5 billion to upgrade its network.
Airtel users are enjoying uninterrupted service in Mombasa and Kitale, following a major modernisation of its network infrastructure that was completed in February. The company has partnered with Nokia Networks, one of the world’s leading specialists in mobile broadband for this upgrade project.
Airtel Kenya CEO Adil El Youssefi said with Nairobi’s upgrade makes Airtel Kenya’s network 4G LTE ready. In November last year, Airtel Africa launched 4G in Seychelles and Rwanda, making the two countries amongst the first in sub-Saharan Africa to commercially deploy the 4G network technology.
