National Oil has slashed the price of fuel at its filling statios countrywide. The government-owned oil marketer announced a fuel price reduction of Ksh1 on diesel effective today, Wednesday, 29th October 2014.
“This reduction is aligned to the governments vision of making Kenya a least cost country including through lowering the cost of energy,” the company says in a statement. With this discount, National Oil now retails Diesel at Ksh99.60 in Nairobi down from the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) recommended cost of Ksh100.67. Prices for other towns have been adjusted accordingly.
“The price reduction comes at an opportune time for Kenyans at the onset of the busy farming season,” it says. “It is also anticipated that the benefit of the cost reduction will be passed on to Kenyans by commercial operators including in the transport sector.”
The discounted prices are available to cash and SupaCard customer’s at all National Oil petrol stations countrywide. National Oil has a total of 102 service stations spread across the country.
