Twelve teachers from Star of The Sea school in Mombasa have been arrested over exam leakage claims. The teachers invigilating KCPE exams allegedly shared Mathematics, English and Composition papers via WhatsApp mobile platform.
Detectives from Criminal Intelligence Unit confiscated their mobile phones and are trailing a former teacher at the school who is said to be the source of the message. The suspects who include Zillah Wacharo, Edda Marema, Margret Dzombo and Agatha Nyamongo are being grilled at CID offices and are expected in court today, Mombasa Urban CID boss Nangulu Zack said.

County Education Director Abdhulkadir Kike reportedly held a ‘secret’ meeting at the school with District Education Officer Eunice Mwalala and other senior officials. “I am doing a roundup check of KCPE and have not heard of any incident,” Kike said.
Ruth Musyoki, the school’s headteacher, declined to comment and is said to have locked herself inside the office. “I can’t talk about that know, kindly excuse me,” Ms Musyoki said.
