Zuku offers free TV viewing for its customers

Wananchi Group’s home entertainment brand Zuku will offer 90 days free television subscription to new customers from September 1, 2016, to counter the recent reduction in subscription rates by rival, Gotv.

At the same time, starting September 15, 2016, existing customers will be offered free 30 days television viewing on their current bouquet based on referrals they give for any new customer. “This offer will have no shelf life and begins in September moving forward,” said Zuku Satellite TV Managing Director Jay Chudasama.

Speaking at the firm’s Headquarters at Gateway Business Park on Mombasa Road, Chudasama said the customers will get three months free viewing of the Zuku Smart bouquet. Having 36 Digital TV channels and 18 radio stations, Zuku Smart is an affordable TV package that includes local TV channels and a variety of other genres – but its main emphasis is on local content.

After the 90 days, customers will have the option to retain the current bouquet for only Kshs399 or to upgrade to other packages such as Zuku Classic and Zuku Premium for Ksh999 for 72 channels and Ksh1,399 for 99 channels respectively.

“This free service offer outlines Zuku’s value for money proposition with a focus on delivery of high quality content at affordable prices. We offer our customers strong products and value for money service – the most affordable TV service with a focus on local content. Zuku provides strong, quality signal anywhere in the country that guarantees access to affordable family entertainment,” he said.

The Zuku brand under the Satellite TV service has operations in Kenya, Zambia, Tanzania, Uganda and Malawi offering high quality and affordable family entertainment. This new offer comes in the wake of a number of incentives that Zuku offered to its customers earlier this year. In March this year, subscribers were given wonderful incentives.

Those who paid six months subscription consecutively received one month’s free subscription an offer that was also extended to those who paid for six months in advance. At the same time, those who paid Zuku Smart for 12 months consecutively or in advance received two months free subscription.

The Smart Package offering is a response to customers’ requests for affordable quality entertainment that suits the needs of the entire family. Among the channels on offer are Zuku Entertainment, Zuku Movies Max, Zuku Movies Action; Zuku Novella, Zuku Kids, Zuku Life, Zuku Swahili Movies and Zuku Sports.
