Nairobians will have to find alternative means of transport from Wednesday when matatus plan to start a strike to protest the suspension of Embassava Sacco buses.
Issuing the strike notice from July, the Matatu Welfare Association (MWA) accused the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) of condemning the entire Embassava fleet after one bus driver was involved in an accident.
MWA chairman, Mr Dickson Mbugua, said it was wrong to condemn the entire Sacco and ban their buses from operation for the sins of one.
Embassava is the largest Sacco plying between city centre and a number of Eastlands routes. NTSA banned the buses from operation on June 24.
