Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair (above) has secretly jetted into Kenya ahead of US President Barack Obama’s tour on Friday, in what analysts say is to provide the bridge between Western and African interests.
Widely seen as Obama’s right-hand man, Mr Blair landed in Nairobi from Kigali last week. Aviation sources have confirmed to Business Today that the former Prime Minister landed in the country in a private jet. Three days ago, he was spotted in Westland’s exclusive Capital Club on the invitation from a top CEO in Kenya where he was the chief guest.
“Blair is the master of massive deals in the world today. His cross-Atlantic friendship with Obama is purely commercial,” said a foreign policy analyst familiar with the former PM’s business interests.

Sources say the British Labour Party statesman acts as a link between Mr Obama and other wealthy African leaders that America would not want to associate with publicly, among them Rwanda’s Paul Kagame.
In Blair Inc: The Man Behind The Mask, authors Francis Beckett, David Hencke and Nick Kochan argued in March that Mr Blair has amassed a personal fortune of more than $90 million and property portfolio worth $37.5 million in the eight years since he left office.
