“This is a strange world, so I have learnt.”
Those are the bitter words of former NTV political editor and reporter Richard Chacha who has blasted his former colleagues at Nation Media Group for ignoring his calls.
Mr Chacha, who left NTV in June, expressed his frustration in a Facebook posting today, but did not name names. “There is this category of friends who no longer pick my calls or reply my messages,” he wrote. “For Heaven’s sake, I am not asking for HELP. Just catching up.”
From the post, it easy to guess that those not picking his calls are those he worked with in NTV. Mr Chacha, who rose from reporter to NTV’s political editor, said he had retired from journalism after accident injuries took a toll on his performance.
Mr Chacha had a glittering career in TV journalism until three years ago when he was involved in an accident that left him paralysed. The accident happened in 2012 when a team of Nation Media Group journalists were on their way back to Nairobi from Narok after a fundraiser.
The post has attracted lots of solidarity comments with the former journalist.
