Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero yesterday said the three days he gave Kakamega Senator Bonny Khalwale to apologise for calling him the main architect of Mumias Sugar troubles have lapsed and he will now sue the politician.
Khalwale last week linked Kidero to the collapse of Mumias Sugar, saying he was the “prefect” of those who blundered the sugar miller.

The governor said Mr Khalwale can present the evidence he has against him in court. “The case of the people who siphoned money from Mumias is in court. My name is not among them,” Kidero said.
Mr Kidero said theft is an economic crime that cannot be addressed in a political gathering. The governor said he transformed Mumias Sugar in the nine years he was a director and made billions of shillings in profit. He said he initiated many projects and paid farmers on time.
