Regional retailer Nakumatt Holdings today opened a new branch along Mombasa Road, Nairobi, making its 63rd store in East Africa. The new Nakumatt NextGen Supermarket is located at the NextGen Mall and has opened its doors in a move aimed at improving service delivery to Nakumatt’s ever growing customer base.
Speaking during the launch of the store, Nakumatt Holdings Managing Director Atul Shah said the firm is undertaking a strategic corporate restructuring geared at improving its performance. Plans are at an advanced stage to open its 64th branch in Kigali, Rwanda as part of a strategy to boost its topline revenues and enhance service delivery.
“We will continue to push on with our growth and expansion plans across the region in our quest to enhance value for our customers, staff, and supply partners. Our values lie in ensuring that our customers enjoy convenience as well as a variety of high quality goods, and this Next Gen store also marks a change in the way we we want our new stores to look going forward,” said Mr Shah.
The new Nakumatt NextGen Supermarket sits on 60,000 square feet of space and is a fully fledged supermarket that will provide customers with a wide variety of goods from fresh counters, groceries, household items, electronics, baby and toys and much more, all under one roof.
The Nakumatt NextGen store is strategically located on Mombasa road next to the bypass to serve customers drawn from South B & C, Diamond Park among other residential estates in the environs. The store is offering a 10% discount on any expenditure above Ksh5,000, this offer will last until the 25th of December 2016, together with some special opening offers to delight customers. During this festive season, Nakumatt is projecting a 34% growth.
