The Nairobi Securities Exchange opened the week with a total of 27M shares valued at Ksh762M traded, down from Ksh796M on a volume of 21M shares posted last Friday.
The NSE 20 Share Index shed 10.54 points to stand at 4627.90. All Share Index (NASI) ended 0.36 points higher to stand at 156.32.
The biggest gainers of the day were ked by Eveready which added 7.32% to close at Ksh4.40 and KCB which rose 3.6% to Ksh56.5, while Bamburi Cement was up 3.23% to Ksh160 and Kenya Power growing 2.5% to close the day at Ksh16.4.
On the losing side were Express Kenya which was down 9.01% to close at Ksh5.05, TPS Serena, which dropped 7.04% to settle at Ksh33, while Britam lost 4.7% value to close at Ksh16 as Portland went down 3.28 to finish at Ksh59.

In agriculture, Eaagads was down fifty cents to trade at Ksh35.00, moving 1,000 shares.
The Banking Sector had 3.4M shares traded and represented 12.66% of the day’s traded volume. Equity Bank was unchanged at Ksh45.00 for 1.1M shares traded. Kenya Commercial Bank up one shilling to Ksh55.50 moved 1.5M shares.
Commercial & Services Sector accounted for 0.92% of the day’s traded volume. Nation Media Group declined to Ksh188.00 on a volume of 105,000 shares, down from Ksh190.00 posted the previous session. WPP ScanGroup unchanged at Kes.38.00 moved 3,000 shares.
The Energy & Petroleum Sector moved 3.3M shares, which accounted for 12.35% of the day’s traded volume. Kenya Power actively moved 2.6M shares at between Kes.16.00 and Kes.16.40. KenGen moved 533,000 shares and closed at Ksh8.60. Down fifty cents to Ksh55.50, Centum Investment moved 276,000 shares. Home Afrika traded 291,000 shares at a fairly stable price of Ksh2.50.
Manufacturing & Allied Sector moved 996,000 shares, which represented 3.69% of the day’s traded volume. British American Tobacco was up Ksh14 to Ksh814.00 for 132,000 shares traded. EA Breweries moved 373,000 shares and closed at Ksh285.00. Safaricom was up 1% to close the day at Ksh15.30 for 17.7M shares traded.
