APA insurance unveils new policy to cover delayed flights

APA Insurance has announced a new travel policy that will cover travellers from damaged or lost baggage as well as delayed flights. This is part of the company’s Globetrotter Travel Cover in its move to stamp authority in the insurance market.

The company which is the insurance arm of the Apollo Investments has been running an online campaign dubbed #BaggageDrama in a bid to educate travellers on the importance of the policy. “We are proud to be rewriting the rules of insurance in the country. Our intention in introducing this product is to eliminate travellers’ headache of having to deal with loss or damage of their luggage during the journey,” said Ashok Shah, CEO of APA Apollo Group.

In addition to covering loss or damage of luggage during travel, the Globetrotter Travel Cover insures travellers against delayed departure of booked flights, the event that they cannot get to their destinations because of hijack, loss of essential documents, medical expenses and personal accidents. It also covers personal liability for accidental injury to third party or damage to their property.
