Crown Paints wins Company of the Year Award

Crown Paints is the winner of theĀ 2016 Company of the Year Award. The firm also scooped three other awards including leadership and management, customer orientation and marketing, and innovation and knowledge.

The paint maker company also saw its human resources manager Nicholas Wanambisi crowned manager of the year. The Chief Executive Officer Rakesh Rao said the firmā€™s commitment to quality service delivery was key to winning award that the firmā€™s last won two years ago.

ā€œWe have established sound systems to enhance quality services for customers and this is very exciting and fulfilling to win this award,ā€ Rao added.

Vivek Investment Ltd emerged the overall Small and Medium-sized Enterprises winner and the Corporate Citizenship and Environment, and Productivity and Quality awards.

Kenya Institute of Management (KIM) uses an assessment toolĀ known as Organizational Performance Index (OPI)Ā to rate the performance of businesses on a scale of one to 10, with 10 as the highest score.Ā The main objective of the awards is primarily to assess the performance of companies in certain areas with an aim of benchmarking them against global business performance to boost competitiveness and excellence.

This year saw 14 organizations being recognized having completed the vetting process. The event was graced by the Information Communications and Technology Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru, who said the country was rapidly embracing the penetration of technology and is moving in the right direction.
