The police have revealed that Jacob Juma was last seen with a female partner.  And as his last moments are pieced together, it emerges that Juma had a darker side to his life that only his death could reveal, but which has complicated investigations into his killing.

Apparently, Juma had hosted the lady at his apartment in Westlands before dropping her in town at around 8pm after standing up another lawyer girlfriend he had given an evening date.

Mohammed Ali and Dennis Onsarigo of KTN blew of off the lid on the ‘lucky’ lady that day and now Kenyans know that Jacob Juma had had some nice moments with Cheryl Kitonga, a former Marketing student at the University of Nairobi.

Footage from Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras captured Ms Kitonga sitting on the passenger seat of the Mercedes Benz that Mr Juma drove to the city centre on the night of the murder. He dropped her off near Trattoria Restaurant.

In their investigative piece on Juma’s murder, Moha and Onsarigo aired a phone conversation between Cheryl and the taxi driver who took her to Juma’s house on that fateful day. They are both heard admitting to recording statements with the police, but Cheryl goes a step further and talks of her tribulations since that day.

Moments after Ms Kitonga was mentioned in the television expose, she deactivated her Facebook account.

Part of Jacob Juma’s dark side had to do with the love for beautiful young women and he preyed on them using his cash for which there was plenty of supply. In a society that glorifies money, Juma, like many wealthy men, was a magnet for money-hungry city women looking for ‘sponsors’.

He would spend most of his time on Facebook, posting anti-government rumbles or giving ‘insights’ into government scandals or bragging about his escapades.

But most of the time on social media, it emerges, was spend seducing young women who were  attracted by his boldness and flashy image he projected on social media. Some of his Facebook girlfriends shared those seductive screenshots of their text exchanges after his death.

But not all fell for his advances. Some ladies, who rejected his meeting proposals, leaked their chats.

Meanwhile, the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), had on Monday said that it had recorded 28 statements from various people in connection to the businessman’s death.

They included the widow Miriam Juma, Karen police officers, the breakdown driver who towed Mr Juma’s car, a lawyer girlfriend who received Ksh30,000 from the deceased on the night of his death, another girlfriend who was sent Ksh60,000 to buy a mobile phone and a house help whose salary of Sh9,500 was sent by Juma.

The lawyer girlfriend she told police she was to meet him that evening at his apartment in Westlands but he switched off his phone and instead met another lady.
