PR, marketing and advertising bootcamp set for Dec. 19

The International School of Advertising will on the 19th of December 2015 hold a one-day boot camp for industry professionals at Woodlands Kilimani from 8am to 5pm. The boot camp, dubbed Learn and Earn, will draw participants from PR, marketing and advertising, and will be run by renowned industry experts.

The Learn and Earn programme is an initiative of the school to align graduates with industry expectations through personal as well as technical skills in these fields. Apart from just learning, ISA’s promise is to provide placement for participants to earn.

The Learn and Earn boot camp will provide participants with an opportunity to be win 10 scholarships to join ISA for the January 2016 intake. The Chartered Institute of Marketing -CIM/CAM have partnered with ISA to integrate their content so participants simultaneously get an internationally recognised certification.

Mr James Ngomeli, Chairman of CIM, officially launched the initiative saying that the partnership also provides participants a pathway to becoming Chartered Marketers.

“We however need to create more interest in university students to participate in the program,” said ISA CEO Susan Makau. “Companies have begun to book for students even before they are available, a sign the product is not only working but there is demand for it.”

Universities have also been urged to nominate the best students with a passion for a career in these fields to come for the boot camp where they will stand a chance to win the scholarships slots”. The closing date for the registration will be 11th December 2015.  The Advertising industry, fronted through the Advertising Association APA, was also represented by Chairman, Lenny Nga’nga, who said that there are no institutions that offer programmes that directly provide for the Advertising Industry, citing that this was the solution.
