Keroche Breweries founder and CEO Tabitha Karanja (pictured) has emerged tops in this year’s Africa Awards for Entrepreneurship (AAE). The awards are organised by OCP Group and the African Leadership Network (ALN).
The organisers said winners represent the best of entrepreneurship on the continent. They have persevered to establish thriving companies, all of which are creating tangible positive impact on the regions and countries in which they operate.
ALN CEO, Mr Isaac Fokuo, summed up the proceedings, noting that the African business landscape has never been more exciting and promising than now. “These African entrepreneurs represent a model for success on the continent. Using their example, we can begin to chart a path to a more prosperous future,” he said.

AAE was established to recognise business leaders who demonstrate business excellence, while serving as role models to inspire Africa’s next generation of entrepreneurs. ALN creates and strengthens relationships between these leaders to encourage intra-African trade, investment, and collaboration.
Last year’s AAE winners included Choppies (Botswana), Banapads (Uganda), and Ostec (Ghana). After receiving their awards, many AAE winners commit themselves to ALN’s mantra of “Powering Africa’s Prosperity” by mentoring early stage entrepreneurs through ALN’s startup accelerator, ALN Ventures.
