Raila Odinga has said he will not stop his fight against corruption, even if he is arrested 100 times, as it has robbed Kenyans of millions of shillings under Jubilee’s leadership.

Noting the Eurobond saga is the biggest to have hit the government, the Opposition chief said rampant corruption is making life unbearable for citizens.  “As CORD we are committed to fighting this monster and bringing change, which we have yearned for a long time, to the administration of this nation,” he said as reported in the Star.

He spoke on Friday at Kanduyi Red Cross Hall in Bungoma during a meeting with ODM delegates on sensitising residents on the mass voter registration exercise ending on March 15.

Fighting for liberation

Mr Raila said CORD will remain united and pursue Kenyans’ liberation by fulfilling the dream of having a government that is free of corruption scandals. Regarding the Ksh250 billion Eurobond scandal , he reiterated that senior government officials stole it the same way they borrowed it – from outside the country.

Mr Raila said his coalition has started cracking the whip on errant and disloyal party members; he said Bungoma county ODM chairman John Waluke (Sirisia MP) has been warned that action will be taken against him over ” his romance ” with the government.

“Any CORD soldier who turns his gun to shoot fellow soldiers is like a team player who tries to score an own-goal. That is an enemy and traitor who will be dealt with accordingly.”

Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula asked county Cord members to remain loyal and not be enticed by “small goodies” as the coalition will win the presidency in the 2017 general election. “You cannot be an ODM county chairman yet every day you are busy going to the Deputy President’s home in Sugoi for goodies and brown envelopes,” he said.

Mr Wetang’ula said Kenyans should support Cord so it can take over the country “because Jubilee has clearly shown Kenyans how not to run a country with the rampant corruption scandals that are escalating the cost of living”.
