Has Safaricom gagged the media?

Business Today has obtained the draft advert that Ken Kiplagat used to arm-twist Nation Media Group to publish the KPMG report which, according to reports, had been ignored by most mainstream media houses. Safaricom CEO had dismissed reports based on the KPMG document, saying it had been stolen before it was concluded.

Mr Kiplagat-sponsored advert sought to show that the media had been compromised by Safaricom not to report on the KPMG report, but betrays his interest in fighting Safaricom by alluding to a dispute over the security frequencies tender awarded to the mobile operator. It was never published, but Kiplagat achieved his mission of getting the report reported by Kenya’s largest media house.
