Mr Uhuru Kenyatta, you cannot condemn all Kenyans as corrupt and insolent, as you did in the distant comfort of Israel. I assume you were talking about the minority that surrounds you, the likes of Ruto, Duale and Murkomen.

The trouble with Kenya is simply and squarely a failure in leadership. There is nothing basically wrong with the Kenyan character. There is nothing wrong with the Kenyan land or climate or water or air or anything else.

The Kenyan problem is the unwillingness or inability of its leaders to rise to the responsibility, to the challenge of personal example which are the hallmarks of true leadership.

Mr Uhuru Kenyatta, your job is to solve the Kenyan problem but you have chosen to be an accomplice.

The writer is the Senator for Homa Bay County.
