There was chaos in the Parliament today as MPs jeered and threw papers, forcing speaker Justin Muturi to suspend debate on the contentious anti-terror bill 2014.

As National Security Committee chairman Asman Kamama tried to propose amendments at the floor, his attempts were met by opposition lawmakers who sang ‘Bado Mapambano’ (the struggle continues) song.

Muturi was forced to intervene, ordering ejection of opposition senators James Orengo, Boni Khalwale and Johnson Muthama who were seated in the Speaker’s gallery before suspending the National Assembly for at least half an hour in a bid to restore decorum.
