The Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Keriako Tobiko has ordered for the immediate arrest and prosecution of Kisumu Senator Fred Outa and former Kisumu deputy governor Ruth Odinga for allegedly disrupting an Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) training session last week.
Tobiko, in a letter to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Ndegwa Muhoro, now wants the suspects to be arraigned at the Kericho Law Courts to face four charges.
“The suspects should be immediately be charged in kericho Law Courts with the following ooffences; entering in an electoral centre designated by the IEBC without authority, obstruction of election officer in executing his lawful duties, incitement to violence and malicious damage of property,” read the statement in part.

Last week, the training of IEBC election officials in Kisumu, Homa Bay and Vihiga were disrupted following the announcement by Nasa coalition that there will be no election on October 26 unless their demands of the irreducible minimums were met.
In Kisumu, a training session at the county’s Huduma Centre was disrupted after youth stormed in and vandalised chairs and tents that had been erected for the programme. The two are believed to be the masterminds of the disruptions.
