Citizen TV business reporter Anne Mumbi Warui has landed a new role as host of a weekly business programme.
Warui debuted on the screen on Wednesday morning when she anchored “Citizen Extra Business”, which would be on Wednesday at 11 am every week.
She went to social media to express her delight at her new career progression move and to encourage viewers to make a date with her.

Warui started her career at K24 before moving to Royal Media Services two years ago. She is seen as one of the most promising young talents in TV business journalism in the country.
Citizen TV has been without a dedicated business segment since Terryanne Chebet, who used to host Business Central, left the media house when it restructured in October 2016.

There are not very few female business journalists in the country. A past academic study conducted by Nyabate Judy M (University of Nairobi, Kenya, 2012), titled Women journalists and their contribution to the journalism profession in Kenya : the case of veteran women journalists in Nairobi, established that most women journalists cover human interest stories leaving areas such as politics, business, sports and investigative sections largely male dominated.
So we can only wish daring ones such as Anne Mumbi Warui all the best in their careers.
