MetroTrans East Africa received another 20 buses, which are part of a Ksh389 million fleet of new FUSO buses to offer door-to-door transport in Kenya. The investment is a lease partnership between National Bank of Kenya (NBK) and Simba Corporation as they seek to meet demand for public transport which has continued to rise over the years as population increases.

In Nairobi there are currently about three million residents and a daytime population of 4.5 million people who need to commute through the city. The buses will be used on different routes in Nairobi and will be available on the SWVL platform.
Speaking during the handover, MetroTrans Chief Executive Officer Oscar Rosanna said they would continue growing their fleet with this delivery and serve customers better. He said this batch was part of the remaining buses expected by the end of the year.
“This is an opportunity to widen our reach and offer better transportation solutions to our clients. These buses will help us add value to our clients.,” he added.
For his part, Naresh Leekha, the Managing Director of Simba Corp Motors, said Fuso is geared towards providing comfort. “When it comes to buses, comfort is key when moving from point A to B. With this partnership we offer all passengers comfort in travelling, with enough leg room, aeration, seatbelts, better driving comfort for the driver,” he said.
Simba Corp has invested in fully-fledged after-sales centres across the country and are on hand to provide genuine parts for all Fuso trucks and buses, Mr Leekha added. “In addition, we have continuous training sessions to engage drivers on the buses’ capabilities for maximum efficiency, ” he added.

Metro trans are the worst matatus in town..all drivers are so reckless and careless. I believe they can’t carry their wives and children in that manner,why the rest of us be put at risk?
