Mr Tembo: How I Used My Money To Avoid Begging Later In Life

You remember Joseph Omari, a man we have known as Mr Tembo for 11 years, a no-nonsense principal for Tahidi High, the famous TV series that featured on Citizen TV?

Well, after exiting the stage as an actor, Mr Tembo has led a low life, and unlike some other actors, he has never shown any sign of financial instability.

In a recent interview, Mr Tembo said that he avoided extravagance during his heydays, unlike his fellow actors and actresses. Instead, he says that he invested most of what he earned in his family and children, who are taking care of him now.

Tahidi High was constant. I was there for n. years. and with the money I made, I planned it well. I have kids in Norway, Sweden and so they are taking care of me now,” said Omari alias Mr Tembo.

“Family is the best component in my life. That is why even when I am not working. you will never see or hear me begging. That is shaming my kids and family. That is disrespect to them. Invest in them and avoid situations that will make you a beggar in public. I don’t have a lot of money but I planned my kids.”

Mr Omari is a contrast to a number of his fellow actors whom they shared the same stage, but are now complaining about financial difficulties to the extent of begging for help on social media.

Among the most prominent actors of Tahidi High who have been experiencing financial woes include Kamau Kinuthia popularly known as Omosh.

“Providing food and other basic needs of my family has been a major problem. The landlord wants to collect everything from me,” said Omosh last year.

inancial woes are not the only challenge Omosh is battling. According to the actor, he is also dealing with marital issues which he believes are a result of him being unable to cater to his family’s needs.

Another actor, Dennis Mugo (OJ), has been in and out of rehab over financial addiction.
