M-Net gives East Africa movies special festive season channel

Kenyan movie Playboy, Tanzania’s Kafia Ghetto and Uganda’s House Arrest are some of the movies M-Net is lining up a a special festive season channel called East Africa Movie Fest.

The movie channel, which began airing on December 10, will be available for DSTV subscribers on Compact, Compact Plus and Premium packages until February 3, 2019.

M-Net says this first time East Africa themed pop up festive season channel will be available on DSTV Channel 197.

“The channel will premier new movies for five full hours each day for 8 weeks,” M-Net said in a statement. “The channel will open every day at 3pm and run until 12midnight and will feature the best movie titles from Maisha Magic Bongo, Maisha Magic East and Pearl Magic Uganda channels.”

A schedule of some of the movies lined up to premier on the new festive season pop up channel appears below.

  • Stella – December 19; 4:30pm
  • Kafia Ghetto – December 19; 8:35pm
  • Uriah – December 20; 9.35pm
  • House Arrest – December 23; 8pm
  • Karibu Tandale – December 28; 8:20pm
  • Break In – December 30; 5:20pm
  • Pandu – January 7, 2019; 8:45pm
  • My Policy – January 14, 2019; 3pm
  • Playboy – January 14, 2019; 7pm
  • Mother in law – Nazaala – January 15; 6pm
  • Flowers and Bricks – January 15, 2019; 8:30pm
  • Muokota Makopo – January 19; 7pm
