Diamond Trust Bank and Jumia have announced a partnership aimed at enhancing cashless payment on the e-commerce platform when purchasing during this year’s Black Friday Campaign.

Jumia consumers will enjoy savings of up to 80% on millions of products on the Jumia App during this year’s Jumia Black Friday dubbed The Biggest Sale of the Year, set to kick off from 6th – 30th November.

Additional discounts of up to Ksh1,500 will be awarded to consumers who shop using their DTB Mastercard or DTB m24/7 app at checkout.

Jumia expects 25% of Kenya’s active internet users to visit the platform during this year’s  Black Friday event to secure deals ahead of the shopping season.

“Black Friday is the biggest sale of the year – and all about saving customers money. We expect the event to be very relevant for customers, as people are feeling the economic pressure of COVID-19 and looking for value. We have been working closely with thousands of partners to prepare the event this year and are happy to welcome DTB as Title Sponsor,” said Sam Chappatte, Jumia Kenya CEO.

“In addition to helping make Black Friday happen, DTB is offering great value to our customers. Those with DTB accounts will get additional discounts when transacting with their cards. Don’t forget the biggest deals will be exclusively on the Jumia App ” he added.

App-only deals will include discount vouchers, flash sales, Free Delivery from top brands, and crazy giveaways including a year’s rent and a car.

“Our goal is to facilitate convenience and safety for the consumer, by providing the DTB digital payment services as they enjoy the Jumia deals. Consumers interested in the deal are welcome to open a digital account with DTB, by downloading the DTB m24/7 app on the Google Playstore or iOS App store, following the steps outlined and within 5 minutes set up an account to enjoy a discount of up to Ksh. 1,500 from DTB, in addition to the Jumia deals. “said Farouk Khimji, DTB Head of Products and Marketing.

“Existing DTB customers can also use their DTB Mastercard or DTB mobile banking service at checkout to enjoy extra discounts” added Mr. Khimji.

Jumia Black Friday has over the years been widely popular for offering crazy discounts on different types of products.
