Royal Media Services owned Inooro TV station is staring at a major crisis with its main top presenters/anchors expected to join a rival station.
Reliable sources at Royal Media have told Business Today that at least four popular presenters are set to resign and join Kameme TV, owned by Mediamax Ltd, after the management failed to honour salary increment.
Inooro, the vernacular TV launched by S.K. Macharia in 2015, has won growing audience among native Kikuyus especially in the Mount Kenya region and Nairobi. In February this year, the station was ranked the best in Central Kenya and number fifth across the country behind Citizen TV, KTN, KTN News, NTV after overtaking K24.
Among the most popular programmes on Inooro TV include 7PM-9PM news bulleting hosted by power couples Ken Wakuraya and Muthoni Mukiri, Medical show “Dagitari”, drama series “Mwingangaro” music show by DJ Smile and Nyambura Kabue.
It’s believed that the pioneer presenters are already in talks with Kameme TV which is offering them a better offer. Mediamax is targeting them to up audience ranking for Kameme TV, which was launched February 2017.
