The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has granted access to presidential candidates, agents and observers to the Results Transmission Server, in their latest announcement signed by chairman Wafula Chebukati.

This follows a number of accusations by Nasa leader Raila Odinga and Opposition followers who believe that the repeat election voter turnout was inflated and was not truthful, with the commission initially giving conflicting information about the voter turnout.

“The commission has given access rights to presidential candidates, agents and observers who made requests; to the Results Transmission Server from Day of elections 26/10/2017 till results were declared,” said Mr Chebukati.

The commission also said that they would avail log files to public members upon request. “The commission is in the process of making arrangements to avail the logs to others upon request,” he added.

This comes at a time when the country is waiting for the opposition led by Raila to issue a statement on the way forward regarding their political ambitions.

Uhuru won the repeat polls with 7,483,895 votes in the repeat polls which was conducted on October 26 despite the withdrawal by Nasa leader Raila Odinga who called on his supporters to boycott the polls.
