When not at his day job at Royal Media Services (RMS) as a Citizen and Ramogi TV anchor, Trevor Ombija is a businessman with interests in areas including hospitality and communications strategy.

Ombija is a senior partner at Crestwood Communications, a Kilimani-headquartered marketing firm that has executed communications and marketing campains for several major clients, including government agencies such as the Ministry of Health and the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS), and companies such as appliances maker LG.

Crestwood was established by David Osiany, who leads it to date as Group Chairman, a decade ago. Osiany previously served as a Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) in former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration.

Osiany’s wife Syombua Mwele runs the company’s day to day operations, serving as Managing Director.

Besides marketing services, the firm offers events management, communications and PR services as well as media training for individuals seeking grow their public stature.

Ombija contributes expertise particularly in communications and media relations, allowing clients to tap into his vast understanding of the industry.

In his professional career, Ombija rose from a junior assignment editor at what is now CGTN, to one of the country’s most recognizable media personalities. Notably, Crestwood isn’t his only multi-million shilling side hustle.

He is also associated with Samaki Samaki, a popular sea food restaurant and jazz club. The restaurant is located in upmarket Lavington locale.

Ombija found himself on the receiving end of public backlash in November last year after it emerged in that the club had failed to act on complaints by residents in the surrounding area to lower it’s volume. Former model Emma Too went viral as she shared her experience of sleepless nights and tussles with the owners of the restaurant, complete with videos and screenshots.
