National Super League leaders, Wazito FC, will have a big challenge in their title quest when they face unbeaten Nairobi Stima at Karuturi sports grounds at 1:00 pm today. Wazito has established a three-point lead ahead of second-placed Ushuru FC.

The league leaders, however, risk giving Ushuru a chance to reduce the gap if they fail to end Nairobi Stima’s unbeaten record. Their ability to return to the top flight league will be tested by Nairobi Stima whose form is also on the roof with the team yet to lose a match. Stima are also on a quest to reduce the gap separating them and Ushuru as they also seek to be promoted.

Wazito’s trio of Stephen Owusu, Washington Munene and Victor Ndinya will be having an emotional match as they play against their former employer. The three, however, are expected to boost Wazito’s idea as they have an idea of what to expect from third-placed Nairobi stima. Wazito Coach Mohammed Mchulla is more likely to field the trio in the NSL match.

This season’s NSL has proven to be very competitive as it is currently difficult to predict the teams that will earn promotion to the Kenya Premier League next season. Wazito FC, Ushuru FC, Nairobi Stima, FC Talanta, and Kisumu All Stars are currently the most likely to get promoted but the competition amongst them is so intense you cannot predict the victors.

Ushuru FC, who are banking on Nairobi Stima to stop Wazito’s run, will be on a mission to gain 3 points when they play 11th placed Modern Coast Rangers at Camp Toyoyo at 4:15 pm. As they hope for Nairobi Stima to beat league leaders, Ushuru will be working to gain maximum points.

After losing to Migori Youth in their previous match, another promotion-chasing FC Talanta will be hoping to bounce back when they play a struggling Kibera black stars at Camp Toyoyo at 2:00 pm.

Another promotion-chasing outfit, Kisumu All-Stars, will also be seeking redemption when they host league newbies Fortune Sacco at Moi Stadium, Kisumu at 3:00 pm. All-Stars lost their previous match, 2-1, to Kenya Police and will be hoping to use the advantage of home soil to reap three points in their fixture today.
