Samsung Electronics makes an addition to its 2018 J series line-up

Samsung Electronics continues to offer innovative smartphone options to consumers across all market segments as it announces the availability in Kenya of the Galaxy J8 (2018). The introduction of the device comes after the launch of four other devices under the banner, the Ultimate Squad, presenting premium features on mass and mid-level devices at affordable price points.

Retailing at Ksh 33.999, the 6-inch display Galaxy J8 places emphasis on its camera experience that features an f/1.7 16MP and 5MP dual camera. Coupled with Live Focus capabilities that allow users to adjust the depth of field either when taking the photo or after, the camera is set for stunning images with an artful touch. The front camera packs an f/1.9 16MP lens, an adjustable LED flash and Selfie Flash enabling consumers enjoy high-resolution selfies even in low light.

Charles Kimari, the Head of Mobile Division at Samsung Electronics noted that the firm would continue sharing the amazing technology on the flagship models with consumers within the mid-tier category.

“Over the years, the performance of the flagship devices in our market has been impressive as the
technology space continues to open up. And as our research team continues to develop market- leading technology, we strive to spread these innovations across all our market segments. This has already been the case with the Galaxy A6+, J6, J7 Duo and J4 devices we introduced recently,” he added.

Powering the device is a 3,500mAh battery, and for a seamless experience allowing smooth multitasking, it comes with a Snapdragon 450 octa-core 1.8GHz processor and 3GB of RAM. With the Infinity Display, the device supports an aspect ratio of 18:5:9. The Galaxy J8 also comes with a
fingerprint reader at the back and face recognition features offering added security compared to other devices within this price segment.

Dual Messenger will also give users the convenience of splitting work messages from personal messages by having two accounts on one device.

The Galaxy J8 is available at Samsung Experience  Stores, Safaricom shops and authorised dealers across the country in black, purple or lavender colour options.
