Safaricom has said its products are supporting the Big Four agenda by providing tools that power the ‘Ease of Doing Government Business.’

Government agencies and counties that embrace the digital revolution can now maximize efficiency in serving the citizenry and reap benefits such as sealing revenue leaks and improving record keeping and data analysis, said Joe Ogutu, Director, Strategy and Innovation, Safaricom.

“Through technology, we are offering some great solutions to various challenges. We are happy that these solutions are supporting development on the Big Four agenda and across the board,” said Ogutu.

Ogutu outlined products adopted by both national and county governments that are supporting the development of education, boosting food security, supporting housing and buttressing manufacturing.

Ogutu was addressing the Fifth Annual Devolution Conference at Kakamega High School, which was officiated by President Uhuru Kenyatta, Governors, Senators and MCAs. National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi, his Senate counterpart Kenneth Lusaka and Chief Justice David Maraga also addressed the conference that closes on Thursday.

Ogutu said that technology is recognized as a key driver of economic development the world over and Kenya is already reaping some benefits.

“I would like to reiterate that Safaricom is committed to transforming the lives of Kenyans and will continue to invest in innovation and resources that make this possible, said Ogutu. “I’m happy that through the power of technology and innovation, we too can offer to those in public service the Ease of Doing Government Business.”
