Nation Media Group has undertaken a minor restructuring following the resignation of Managing Director, Broadcasting Division Alex Kobia.
Sources indicated Kobia, who joined NMG less than a year ago to replace Linus Kaikai, did not indicate reasons for his exit from the twin towers. Kaikai later joined Royal Media Services as Strategy and Innovation Director.
In changes announced by NMG CEO Stephen Gitagama, Justus Tharao (production and programming operations) and Betty Kuremwa (commercial) will report to him until a substantive replacement is identified.
Emmanuel Juma will continue to report to the Group Editorial Director Mutumas Mathiu while Martin Mwaura (technical) and Nickson Kirwa (marketing) will report to Tharao.
Kobia, who holds a Masters in Science from University of Liverpool, joined the Group last year from Aljazeera Media Group where he was the Head of Sales and Distribution, Sub Saharan Africa.
He has previously held senior positions in African Media Group Limited (AMGL), Tanzania, TV Africa Kenya & Uganda, Sanyu Television, Uganda and KTN, Kenya.
