The National Super Alliance has nominated former Bondo MP Oburu Oginga and Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s son, Kennedy, to the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA).

Oburu, an elder brother to NASA leader Raila Odinga, lost in the ODM nominations for the Bondo seat to the incumbent, Gideon Ochanda. He was a nominated MP in the last Parliament.

Others nominated by the opposition coalition are former Wajir Women Representative Fatuma Ibrahim, NASA Executive Director Norman Magaya, Jane Moronge Marwa, who unsuccessfully vied for the Kuria West seat on an ANC ticket, former  Balambala MP Abdikadir Aden and ODM Women’s League national chairperson Beth Syengo Mutunga.

Others are former EALA member Abubakar Zain, Loy Mwandi Maviala, Angela Munyasya, Justus Onchonge Mochogo and Winfred Mutua, according to a list submitted to the Parliament by Minority Leaders Moses Wetang’ula (Senate) and John Mbadi (National Assembly).

ODM electoral board chair Judith Pareno, whose earlier nomination raised a storm in NASA over the manner she conducted ODM primaries, has been omitted.

Also dropped by the coalition is former Bomet councillor Ronald Ng’eny, who has missed EALA nomination for the second time after failing to clinch a slot in 2012 .
