As part of the New Year celebrations, regional low-cost carrier, Jambojet will sell over 10,000 tickets at Ksh2,020 for three days.

The promotion which runs from 2nd – 4thJanuary 2020, will see Jambojet sell 2,020 tickets to and from each of its local destinations at the promotional price.

The price is a play on the New Year 2020, and matches the fares public service vehicles charge during peak travel time in late December and early January.

Five destinations

The airline flies to five local destinations namely Malindi, Ukunda, Mombasa, Kisumu and Eldoret from its hub in Nairobi and hopes such offers will attract new travellers to try their services and eventually become regular fliers.

The tickets will be valid for travel from 6th January to 31st March 2020. Competition for local routes has been growing with other players like Fly 540 and Silverstone taking a huge chunk of the market.

“We are always looking for ways to reward our customers for their loyalty to us and this is one of the ways in which we are able to do this,” says Allan Kilavuka, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Jambojet.

“As we usher in the New Year, we want to assure all our customers that they can continue to fly Jambojet affordably, safely and conveniently.”

Last year, the airline carried similar promotions selling tickets for as low as Ksh50 to celebrate its fifth year anniversary as it sought to revolutionalise flying.

Low-cost airline

The airline has expanded its international regional routes to include Entebbe, Somalia capital Mogadishu and Kigali in Rwanda.

The entry into the Kigali route makes Jambojet the only low-cost airline to operate the route from Nairobi, which is dominated by Rwandair, Ethiopian Airlines and Kenya Airways.
