Huawei launches the Y6 Prime 2019 in the Kenyan Market

Huawei Mobile has today launched Y6 2019 in the Kenyan market which will be retailing at Ksh 13,499 across all retail stores in the country. The launch comes three months after they launched the Y7 prime that goes at a retail price of Ksh 17,999.

The previously launched Y7 has seen the company surpass its target by making 5000 sales within the first month. In both phone models, Huawei has partnered with Lipa Later, a credit facility that lets you pay for any device of your choice then pay in monthly installments.

Huawei last year made a total of 206 million mobile phone sales which is an improvement compared to 2017’s 153 million. Among the 2018 sales, Huawei sold more than 5 million units of the Mate 20 series in two months, which targeted young consumers. The cumulative sales of Huawei’s nova series exceeded 65 million units, and the global shipments of Huawei Mate and P series reached nearly 30 million units.

The Y6 2019 features sleek, rounded curves crafted in the shape of the screen, compared to the many wide rectangle shaped notches currently available in the market. All purchases will come with a gift hamper that entails selfie stick, foldable bags and Bluetooth speakers or mugs in select stores.

The Huawei Y6 2019 boasts 13MP rear camera that ensures imaging quality with its high resolution, whereas the front camera is 8MP with beautification algorithms.

Speaking at the launch, Steven Li, Head of Eastern Africa Mobile, thanked Kenyan customers for their support with buying Huawei mobiles.

“Thanks to the enthusiastic support of consumers and partners in Kenya, as well as the demand for quality affordable phones we once again launch another Y series in the Kenyan market; Huawei Y6 2019. We are kicking off the campaign with a pre-order where members of the public are encouraged to pre-order within the two weeks,” he noted.
