Tanzanian Bongo Flava artist Harmonize has disclosed a KSh 7.5 million financial settlement with his Italian ex-wife, Sarah Michelotti, concluding a contentious divorce that drew widespread media attention.

The singer said the settlement resolved disputes over property and finances following their brief marriage, which began in 2019 and ended in 2020 amid allegations of infidelity.

Harmonize told reporters that the legal battle escalated after the split, eventually reaching court. Intervention by both families prompted a negotiated settlement outside the judicial system.

“I paid €50,000 so we could end the case and move forward with our lives,” Harmonize said, noting that the agreement allowed both parties to close that chapter without protracted litigation.

Despite the breakdown of their marriage, Harmonize acknowledged Michelotti’s early support during his music career, which influenced the decision to resolve the matter amicably.

“Sarah supported me during the early stages of my music journey. Because of that, we decided to resolve the issue peacefully,” he said.

The couple’s relationship, once a fixture in East Africa’s entertainment headlines, attracted attention for its lavish wedding and subsequent public fallout. Disputes over finances and property had intensified after their separation, culminating in the court intervention.

Harmonize has since refocused on his career, continuing to release music and expand his presence in the East African music industry. He described the settlement as a way to gain closure and move forward professionally and personally.
