KTN Investigative Reporter Franklin Wallah was on Saturday mugged for the second time in four months.
In a post on social media on Monday, the crime and investigations reporter said he was attacked by a group of assailants riding on a motorbike who snatched away his phone but did not harm him.
According to Wallah, the incident happened at around 4pm on Outering /Kangundo Road Junction four months after being robbed albeit more violently near an ATM in Nairobi Central Business District (CBD).
The investigations reporter has warned his attackers that their days are numbered after successfully tracking down his initial attackers and lobbying for their arrest and eventual prosecution.
“It is sad to say that, their hunt down just begun. Soon it gonna be a sad affair. Am sorry for it’s not going to take long,” said Wallah in the post ” It never took long to hunt them down (arrests/prosecution). This time around though sad, I am happy (sic) for their days are at 39. NOT SOON,” added Wallah.
Conversely, in a subsequent post Wallah said he regrets the incident adding that he is not shaken by the fact that he fall prey to his muggers who he described as “useless”.
Wallah, a polished investigations reporter joined KTN in from K24 in August 2019 after becoming disillusioned with frustration of his investigative work at the Kenyatta Family owned Mediamax.
He resigned, barely a week after his return from Somalia, where he covered AMISOM’s fight against Al Shabaab.
He had been at K24 for three years, where he has honed his skills in investigative journalism and built contacts.
He has done several exposés among them CCTV footage of the late Mary Kamangara, the slain Kori wife – Kiambu Murder, Kisirani Kisauni – Terror Gangs of Kisauni and Giza la Gaza – Terror Gangs of Kayole.
