Erick Rutto has been elected President of the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI).
Rutto beat the incumbent President Richard Ngatia in an election held on Thursday, June 8, 2023, garnering 291 votes against Ngatia’s 208.
Rutto, who has been the chamber’s vice president, will be deputised by Mustapha Ramadhan.
“In a world that is constantly changing, it is my vision that by working together we can build a chamber that is able to adapt, prioritise and effectively meet the wants and needs of its membership, partners and Kenya’s economy,” Rutto said after his election.
Born and brought up in Eldama Ravine, Rutto is the current proprietor of Real Hospital in Eldoret.
In 2019, Ruttop was appointed as a board member of the Water Services Regulatory Board.
