Apple Steps Up Market Assault With Mono-Brand Store in Nairobi

Authorised Apple Reseller Personal Systems Limited on Friday 28th September launched its refurbished Apple products and accessories store at Yaya Centre in Nairobi.

The refit, worth over $50,000 (Ksh5 million) was fully funded by Apple through Redington, Apple’s  Independent Value Added Distributor for Africa.

The refurbishment seeks to enrich customer experience in line with changing trends. Apple customer experience is delivered by Redington, in partnership with Apple premium resellers (APRs) and authorized apple resellers (AARs).   

Speaking at the launch, Redington Marketing Manager Ms Christine Judy said Redington not only offers top-notch pick, pack and ship services, but also programs and services that add value to the products.

“Our job is to offer value addition to products we distribute,” she said, “that is why the success of this project is a boost to our portfolio and a continuation of our splendid partnership with Apple.”

According to Redington, the revamp is part of Apple’s efforts to reposition its products in Africa and globally. Established in 2009, Personal Systems Limited’s refitted Yaya Centre outlet has marked an evolutionary milestone as the premier refit store.

Personal Systems Managing Director Mr Mahmood Khambiye noted that mono-brand stores are the next big thing locally. The approach, which allows customers to experience Apple’s computers and devices hands-on and receive knowledgeable advice from the highly trained technicians, was the future of brand marketing.

“This approach is set to revolutionize marketing trends for Apple products locally while at the same time offering world-class Apple experience,” Mahmood said.

The store’s new identity, according to Christine Judy of Redington, signifies a new direction.
