Njambi Koikai Returns to Radio After Fight for Her Life

Kenyan reggae queen Njambi Koikai is back on the airwaves. She was confirmed as the new host of the “Trace na Doba” show on Trace FM.

Njambi has been off the air for 6 years and was excited to announce her return on her Instagram page. “After 6 years!!!! 6 long years off air guess who’s back on Radio? Queen Fyah Mummah Jahmby!!!!!” the popular presenter and MC wrote.

1n 2018, Njambi was in and out of hospitals as she battled Endometriosis. She managed to raise funds and travelled to the United States to seek medical attention.

After a number of surgeries and procedures, Njambi has been doing well health-wise.

She made a comeback to the entertainment industry in 2020 as an MC at the Buju Banton Concert in Nairobi.

“My future looked so bleak. All I was doing was literally fighting for my next breath. I made it out alive.

“God saw me through it all. As I do my first mini-gig in Nairobi, more like a test drive for my lungs as one of my fans said, it’s overwhelming and heart-wrenching from all the support I’ve received,” she said.

Before the COVID-19 Pandemic hit the country, Njambi had communicated that she had been booked for many gigs both local and international.

Njambi described herself a walking miracle and thanked everyone for welcoming her back.

“It’s all too much for me to take in. I’m grateful to each of you. There’s hope fam. It doesn’t matter what you’re going through, keep hope alive. God is real, He is in control. Kenyan Reggae Queen is Back” she said.

Leading actor and scriptwriter Abel Mutua and comedian Njugush were among those who celebrated the return of Njambi.

The Trace na Doba show will air on Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday from 8PM TO midnight.
