Switch TV has begun the process of replacing talent after being gutted by a raid by K24.

The Kenya Red Cross Society on Monday placed adverts for news anchors, an assignment editor, and multimedia journalists as it seeks to reconstitute a depleted editorial team.

On Monday, K24 TV unveiled its new roaster of the talent plucked from Switch TV after weathering its own storms and upheavals. Meanwhile Switch is now dipping into the market to find suitable talent.

For Switch, the toughest task to complete will be recruiting an Assignment Editor.

In a newsroom set up, an assignment editor is tasked with handling reporters, noting down their assignments, and guiding them on how to go about their tasks and depending on the media house, presenting the running order of a bulletin during editorial meetings.

To fill the above role, Switch TV is looking to enlist the services of a person who has worked in the industry for at least 3 years in a busy newsroom environment, prefarably a TV station.

Switch is also looking for multimedia journalists. A multimedia journalist is a multi-purpose scribe who can comfortably be deployed in either broadcast, research, or digital journalism.

To fill this role, Switch TV is seeking a journalist with a Degree/ Diploma in Journalism and at least two years experience in a busy newsroom environment.

Also being sought are news anchors and to that effect Switch TV is looking for at least two years experience in the same capacity, a degree in mass communication and eloquence in Swahili/ English where bilingual applicants would be considered to have an added advantage.

On the presentation front, Switch TV is looking to replace Abuller Ahmed and Daniel Kituu who both joined K24 as Swahili news presenters and editors.

It is also seeking to replace Nicholas Nduti who joined K24 as a news editor.

Kariuki Gicira and Faith Makena have previously worked as editors for Switch TV and count themselves as recently recruited talent at K24.
