Retoria  online shopping has announced it will give its customers the option to shop from a wide range of products at affordable prices, as the Kenyan e-commerce player ups its game in the stiff online business.

The company has identified about 25 Kenyan vendors who will sell high-end products such as electronics, fashion, home and living, and mobile accessories at cheaper rates. The company also plans to  reduce delivery time and is investing in technology and infrastructure for enhancing its logistics support by meeting the demand of customers intending to service deliveries on the same day and the next-day.

“Stock is the main pillar of commerce, after payments and logistics, which requires optimisation in Kenya. We can assure our customers that we can deliver their orders within 3 days and 24 hours for those around Nairobi,” said Mr John Kanyiha, the managing director for Retoria.

Retoria is looking to partner with offline traders for selling products. It will provide one-day and two-day deliveries for appliances and electronic products across major cities across Kenya in the first phase.

“Our products are affordable compared to the offline market since we have a direct contact with the dealers. We have conducive relationships with our merchants who give us their products at a reasonable price,” he said. “Also, we have bonded warehousing facilities for storing products and trusted payments like M-Pesa, which further reduces transaction fees.”

Under this new repositioning, online shoppers will be able to enjoy great discounts from a wide range of products. In fact, they can also resell at retail. Mr Kanyiha said the strategy will help Kenyan merchant sell a variety of new products online at highly competitive prices.

Retoria stocks a number of products including mobile phones, tablets, computers & laptops, women’s fashion and men’s fashion. Its payment options include pay-on-delivery option for extra convenience.
