Royal Media Services (RMS) Chairman Samuel Kamau (SK) Macharia had a 79th birthday to remember as his wife Purity Muthoni Macharia gifted him a brand new Range Rover Vogue.

Accompanied by family and friends, they belted out happy birthday tunes as Purity led a smiling SK, hand in hand, to the vehicle.

The media mogul took time to admire the sleek car and its interior, clearly enjoying his birthday. A brand new Range Rover Vogue in Kenya costs an estimated Ksh15 million.

The powerful vehicle comes with  Land Rover’s ZF-sourced eight-speed auto, Terrain Response System, dynamic stability control and countless more impressive features.

While SK Macharia is the public face of RMS, Purity herself is a key cog in the machine. She is a Marketing Director at RMS and holds other interests including stake in Directline Assurance.

A video from the celebration quickly went viral inspiring a flood of sentiments. Many Kenyans wished SK a Happy Birthday and wished him the best for the future.

The couple are no strangers to throwing parties and other celebratory events at their homes.

In July, Purity and SK Macharia hosted several artists and political leaders including Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga at their home in Gatanga, Murang’a County.

The event was a celebration of improved earnings for artists on the Skiza Tunes platform and the waiving of 25% excise duty that allowing them to make more from their music. SK is among proponents of the initiative to reform the music rights business in Kenya.

In 2015, SK famously hosted a large party at his Runda home to celebrate his 75th birthday. Complete with performing artists, attendees included Lands Cabinet Secretary Farida Karoney (Former RMS Chief Operating Officer), RMS Managing Director Wachira Waruru and then Nation Media Group (NMG) CEO Wilfred Kiboro.
