Uhuru moves Kanze Dena closer to his heart

The change sets up Head of Presidential Strategic Communications Unit  for major shake-up as President Uhuru moves to consolidate communications

Former Citizen TV news anchor Kanze Dena is now the acting State House Spokesperson and Head of Presidential Strategic Communications Unit following the nomination of  Manoah Esipisu for an ambassadorial position.

This comes barely a month after President Uhuru Kenyatta appointed her to deputise Esipisu, who had served the position since 2013. In her new position, she had the unique opportunity of breaking the news herself. When Kanze Dena was appointed, Business Today accurately predicated that it was the beginning of the end for Manoah Esipisu at State House.

The changes have set up Head of Presidential Strategic Communications Unit  for major shake-up as Uhuru moves to consolidate communications in his second term where his legacy will matter most than politics.

In mini-changes within government, Cabinet Secretary for Industry , Trade & Cooperatives Adan Mohamed has switched positions with his East African Affairs and Regional Development Authorities counterpart Peter Munya.

Others nominated as ambassadors and high commissioners are former Salaries and Remuneration Commission chairperson Sarah Serem, Lt. Gen Samuel Thuita, former Directorate of Criminal Investigations Director Francis Muhoro, former Cabinet minister George Ochillo Ayacko, Amb Peter Nicholas Oginga Ogego, Johnson Mogo Ondieki, Chris Karumba Mburu and Anaimoi MP Benjamin Langat.

Devolution Principal Secretary Nelson Marwa has been moved to Senior Citizen Protection while Arts and Culture PS Joe Okudo has been moved to Tourism.

Prof Collete A Suda moves to the Ministry of Education as Chief Administrative Secretary and Principal Secretary in charge of the State Department for University Education, while Simon Kachapin has moved to the Ministry of Energy as the Chief Administrative Secretary.
