A woman has been arrested and she’s being held for three days by police over allegations that she ran a social media account publishing details of President William Ruto’s private jet movements.

Halima Ngache, known online as “Princess Halima”, was detained following an intelligence-led operation in the Kazandani area of Mombasa.

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Serious Crimes Unit accuse her of operating the verified X (formerly Twitter) account @sholard_mancity, which posted flight routes and travel details involving the president.

Court filings submitted by Corporal Edwin Metto of the DCI’s Serious Crimes Unit state that investigators received intelligence on June 29 regarding a verified X account identified as @sholard_mancity, which allegedly shared details of the President’s travel itinerary, including flight paths and destination information.

According to court documents, the account shared information claiming Ruto travelled by chartered private jet from Belgium to Norway on June 8, from Norway to Finland on June 10, and later suggested he had departed Kenya and was due to board another jet in Madagascar on June 25.

Authorities contend that the posts could have posed security concerns, although investigators told the court they have yet to establish the motive behind the alleged activity.

The DCI told the court that Ngache was arrested on June 30 in Bamburi, Mombasa County, before being escorted to Nairobi and booked at Muthaiga Police Station.

She appeared before the Milimani Law Courts, where detectives successfully sought a three-day detention order to allow them to complete investigations.

DCI Director Amin Mohamed said Ngache is being investigated on suspicion of cyber harassment under Section 27(1) of Kenya’s Computer Misuse and Cybercrimes Act.

The case is scheduled to return to court on July 6, 2026.
