New Chair of the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA), a member of the Public Service Commission (PSC) and two members of the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) have been sworn into office following their appointment by president William Ruto.
Dr Duncan Ojwang took oath of office as the Chairperson of the IPOA, while Ms Flora Nduku Mutua as a Member of the PSC. Ms Antonina Lentoijoni and Mr Wilson Sossion were sworn in as Members of the TSC.
Chief Justice (CJ) Martha Koome while presiding over the swearing-in ceremony challenged the officials to serve faithfully and lead with integrity, stressing that they should leave the institutions entrusted to them stronger than they found them.
“I want to remind you that the measure of public office is not the authority it confers, but the difference that it makes in the lives of people,” CJ Koome said.
She said public office is anchored on public trust and urged them to serve the people of Kenya faithfully, impartially, and with integrity in line with the Constitution.
“I therefore urge you to carry this responsibility with humility, courage, and an unwavering commitment to the Constitution,” she said.
