Quiver Lounge said on Thursday it is suspending Quiver Lounge Kitengela’s boss amid an investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct that he was forcing young female bartenders to sleep with him for promotions and better working conditions at the club.

It is a video posted by one such woman, a victim, on TikTok, which brought the public disclosure of sexual harassment allegations against him and prompted an internal investigation into his behaviour and, ultimately, his suspension.

In the video that went viral, the woman, going by the username Kareh, alleged forms of unwanted sexual advances by the Quiver Lounge Kitengela manager toward the young women working in the club and if they didn’t give in, he fired them.

“How do you fire people because they refused to sleep with you? How do you make people’s lives miserable because they have refused to sleep with you? Quiver Kitengela, you know yourselves. You have been making girls miserable. Nobody can work in peace because they have not given themselves to the manager…” she detailed with a sob of despair. “It is not fair.”

In a media statement earlier yesterday, Peter Mbugua, the owner of Quiver Lounge, said, “It has been a disturbing occurrence,” and its investigation into the said manager was continuing and that the police had been involved.

“We have also invited the law enforcement authorities to ensure that should there be any such incidents, the perpetrators have been brought to book.”

“We disassociate ourselves from any such acts, and we have identified a few of our staff who were recently dismissed. We have recalled them. For those who were wrongfully dismissed, we will reinstate them as the investigations go on,” he added.

Following the incident, Nominated Senator Gloria Orwoba met with him, and the two promised to assist the police in investigations.
