Principal Secretary for Internal Security and National Administration Dr Raymond Omollo has hailed the spirit of sportsmanship, resilience and healthy competition demonstrated during the 2026 Mozzart Bet Cup final, following Tusker FC’s 2-1 victory over Kenya Police FC at Kwale Stadium.

Speaking after presenting the trophy to the champions, Omollo congratulated both teams for their performance and praised the role football continues to play in promoting unity, discipline and national cohesion.

“Congratulations to Tusker FC on lifting the 2026 Mozzart Bet Cup after a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Kenya Police FC. Congratulations as well to Kenya Police FC for an impressive campaign and a spirited final,” said Omollo.

The Principal Secretary, who serves as Patron of Kenya Police FC, joined players, technical staff and club officials after the match to celebrate what he described as a remarkable tournament that showcased the best of Kenyan football.

Omollo said the competition highlighted values that extend beyond the pitch, including respect, teamwork and determination, qualities that are essential in building stronger communities and institutions.

“As Patron of Kenya Police FC, I joined players and officials in celebrating a remarkable tournament and had the honour of presenting the trophy to the champions, underscoring the values of sportsmanship, respect and healthy competition that make football such a powerful unifying force,” he said.

The final produced an entertaining contest, with Tusker FC taking an early lead before Kenya Police FC equalised through Abud Omar in the 29th minute. Tusker regained the advantage before halftime and held on to secure the trophy despite sustained pressure from the law enforcers in the second half.

Following the match, Kenya Police FC praised its players, coaching staff and supporters for an impressive campaign that saw the club reach the final.

The club expressed pride in the team’s performance and pledged to rebuild and return stronger next season.

For Omollo, however, the tournament’s significance extends beyond the result. He noted that football remains one of the country’s most effective platforms for fostering social cohesion, nurturing talent and inspiring young people.

The growing popularity of domestic competitions such as the Mozzart Bet Cup has also attracted increased corporate sponsorship and investment, contributing to the development of Kenya’s sports ecosystem and creating economic opportunities across multiple sectors.

Tusker FC’s triumph adds another major title to the club’s illustrious history, while Kenya Police FC’s run to the final reinforces its emergence as one of the country’s most competitive institutional-backed football teams.
