Posh IT, a provider of integrated business and technology solutions in Kenya has inked a deal with PATH, in a partnership dubbed “African digital health entrepreneurs”.
The partnership will see Posh IT receive a grant aimed at enhancing their capacity in collectively building and expand their digital health solutions using a common, open-source platform dubbed the community health toolkit, stewarded by Medic.
Posh IT was selected as one of the top entrepreneurs after undergoing a capacity assessment exercise as part of the Bayer Foundation-funded Digital Health Ecosystem (DHE) project. This initiative aims to expand digital health tools for community health and explore sustainable business models using the Community Health Toolkit (CHT), which is a human-centered, cost-effective, and scalable digital solution specifically designed for use by community health workers and stewarded by Medic.
The initiative will help create close partnerships with local and national leaders as well as communities to tackle complex health challenges, strengthen health systems, and improve outcomes. With the funding, the award winners hope to leverage a proven digital foundation for their tools while also receiving concerted organizational strengthening and business planning support.

Posh IT is now tasked with creating tools that will enable health care workers to improve the quality, speed, and access for equitable care to their communities. Currently, Posh IT provides technology that supports health sector workflows with a focus on community health, and support to the government and Kenyan health institutions by increasing human resource capacity to better deploy and use digital technologies. In partnership with Medic, posh IT will fully onboard to the CHT to serve as a technical partner to help others build, integrate, and maintain applications on the CHT. This includes capacity building in app design, development, and site reliability engineering.
In partnership with PATH, Posh IT will develop a business plan for providing deployment partners with ongoing technical support, hardware, and maintenance services.
According to Posh IT Chief Executive Officer Joe Mwangi, the partnership between Posh IT and Path Global is a testament to the power of collaboration in driving innovation and sustainable growth within the African Digital health sector.
“By leveraging our combined expertise, resources, and shared vision, we are fostering an environment where digital health entrepreneurs can thrive and create lasting positive change in community health care,” Mwangi noted. Posh IT noted that this was also in line with the government’s plan to digitize health services at the continuum of care where universal health care is a key pillar to better health outcomes and vision 2030.
