OLX has been recognised as the best online classifieds platform in the country in the just concluded Digital Inclusion Awards that took place at the intercontinental early this week. The company was feted for using its site to quickly enable virtual selling of used items through its platform.

Being a first of its kind, the awards sought to recognise and celebrate key players in various sectors that have adopted digital solutions in their daily businesses to offer their products and services in a more convenient way while changing lives of their customers.

“We are honored to have been recognised as the best online classifieds in the country. This recognition is a sure sign that our platform has indeed made selling of second hand items that would have otherwise not been sold, possible. Five years of being in the market has allowed us to optimize the platform and make it even better for consumers looking to sell faster,” Peter Ndiang’ui, OLX country manager, said.

The organisers of the event mentioned the increase in the use of digital solutions by Kenyan companies, saw it fit for them to recognise companies using these solutions best.

“We have noticed an uptake of companies and organisations offering service delivery through digital solutions. This has in turn enhanced the quality of services offered by various companies. Our aim is to encourage more organisations to make use of endless digital solutions for better customer experience and service delivery,” said Mr Wilson Wahome, the awards CEO.
